Phase ("the App") is a camera application for iPhone developed by Andrew Swift ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information in connection with your use of it. We are committed to being straightforward: the App is designed to work entirely on your device, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell personal information about you.

3.1 Camera

The App requests access to your device's camera solely to provide its core function: taking photographs and recording video. Camera data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

3.2 Photo Library

The App requests access to your photo library solely to save photos and videos you capture. We do not read, analyze, or transmit the contents of your photo library.

3.3 Location Data

If you grant location permission, the App uses your precise location exclusively to embed geographic coordinates (EXIF geotags) in the photos you take — the same way the built-in iPhone camera does. Location data is written into the image file stored on your device and is never sent to us or any third party by the App. You may revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Phase Photo.

3.4 App Settings

User preferences (slider positions, filter choices, zoom levels, etc.) are stored locally on your device using iOS's standard UserDefaults mechanism. These preferences never leave your device.

4. Advertising

The App currently displays placeholder advertising content. No advertising network, ad SDK, or third-party tracking library is active at this time. No advertising identifiers are accessed, and no behavioral data is collected for advertising purposes.

In the future, we may integrate a third-party advertising network. If and when we do, this Privacy Policy will be updated prior to that change taking effect, and the updated policy will be presented to you within the App. Any future advertising integration will comply with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, meaning we will request your explicit permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier.

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not currently integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing SDKs. All processing occurs locally on your device.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal information from any user, no special handling for children's data is required beyond what is described in this policy.

7. Data Retention

Because the App does not transmit or store any personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. All data generated by the App (photos, settings) resides on your device and is subject to your own retention decisions. You may delete the App at any time, which will remove its local settings from your device. Photos already saved to your photo library are unaffected by uninstalling the App.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding personal data held about you — including rights of access, correction, deletion, and data portability. Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold data about you and wish to make an inquiry, please contact us using the information in Section 10.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add advertising or analytics features in the future. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
